Depression is one of the most common afflictions when it comes to mental health and much research has been done on the effectiveness of various therapies to treat this malady. Whether you have a mild adjustment disorder with depressed mood, a chronic low-grade depression, known as dysthymia, or a more severe major depressive disorder, I'd be honored to meet with you to explore the various ways to heal from it.
We may do some form of cognitive therapy as described here or maybe a more psychodynamically-oriented therapy. If you are interested in medication I would be happy to consult with your primary care doctor or refer you to one of the psychiatrists I work with. If you're full of energy and motivated we may discuss the practicality of doing daily aerobic exercise. Research has shown 30 to 45 minutes of aerobic exercise daily to be as effective as medication for mild to moderate depression.
